Innovation
Innovation in the service of agricultural performance
Innovation is at the heart of Moreco’s approach. Since 2009, our company has invested in the research and development of biotechnological solutions for agriculture.
Our R&D department develops and optimises innovative formulations based on advanced technologies, with particular attention to their agronomic efficacy, their uptake by plants and their impact on crop quality.
Our team works closely with growers and research institutes to design, test and improve our solutions under real-world conditions. Every formulation goes through a rigorous process designed to guarantee its quality, its performance and consistent results in use.
Need a custom formulation or product?
Are you looking to develop a specific product, or a formulation suited to your agronomic needs?
Whether it is a solution for your own crops or an innovative product to be marketed and distributed, our R&D team supports you through the design and development of tailor-made solutions.
We study your needs and work with you on formulations suited to your technical and agronomic objectives.
Would you like to develop a solution with Moreco?
Our team is available to study your project and explore the possibilities for collaboration.

- PDF · 400 KBFoliar nutrition of crops: Facts, Myths and PerspectivesFoliar fertilisers are increasingly used in agriculture and new commercial products are continuously released by fertiliser companies as a result of the increasing demand. There is indeed abundant evidence showing the beneficial effects of applying foliar fertilisers as a complementary strategy to soil treatments in terms of improved plant metabolism, yields and quality of crops. However, the current lack of scientific knowledge on many factors associated with the effectiveness of foliar treatments limits the reproducibility of the results after spraying fertilisers to different crops under different growing conditions. Additionally, the limited transfer of technical know-how from the scientific foliar uptake community to the agricultural sector supports the exiting “spray and pray” attitude when applying a foliar nutrition treatment to a crop (i.e., anything may happen).
- PDF · 484 KBImpact of agriculture on the Si biogeochemical cycleThe cycles of C and Si are closely related to the weathering of silicates. In both cycles, terrestrial plants make significant contributions to the weathering budget and soil formation. The perturbation of the terrestrial Si cycle by human occupation has become a challenging issue because of possible impact on the equilibrium of aquatic ecosystems and agriculture sustainability. The recycling of Si stored in plants as phytoliths may control the Si cycle in the short-term. A review of the recent literature shows that the biogeochemical cycling of Si that is generally not impacted by atmospheric input or fertilisation, is significantly altered by agriculture through the depletion of the phytoliths pool.
